Start and Stop a Cluster
This section provides you with the steps on how to start and stop a cluster.
To prevent unwanted charges, make sure to stop all clusters when they are not needed. By default, all clusters are automatically stopped after being idle for two hours. For more information and to change the auto-stop time, see Change Auto-Stop Settings.
Start a Cluster
To start a stopped cluster:
-
In the web console, click
Databases.
- Click
to view all the clusters for the database.
- Click
on the cluster you want to start, and then click Start cluster.
- It takes a few minutes for the cluster to start, and the status of the cluster changes to Running.
If your MAIN cluster is stopped, you need to start it first before starting any other cluster within the database.
Stop a Cluster
To stop a running cluster:
-
In the web console, click
Databases.
-
Click
to view all the clusters for the database.

Additionally, you can also stop the database and all its clusters by clicking and then click Stop all clusters. For more information, see Start and Stop All Clusters
