HASHTYPE_SHA512
Purpose
This function computes a hash value by using the SHA512 algorithm (512 Bit).
Syntax
hashtype_sha512::=
Usage Notes
- Return values have data type HASHTYPE(64 byte).
- The data types of the input parameters are significant. That is why HASHTYPE_SHA512(123) is different from HASHTYPE_SHA512('123').
- Multiple input expressions are concatenated (in their internal byte representation) before the hash value is computed.
- The function returns NULL if all input expressions are NULL.
HASHTYPE_SHA512(c1,c2) is not similar to HASHTYPE_SHA512(c1||c2).
