Exasol is available in multiple editions for different use cases and deployment environments, and offers you several ways to explore Exasol in the cloud or on your own infrastructure for free. For production environments

Exasol as an application

Exasol can be installed as a Linux application on your own hardware or on VM instances in a cloud service. For more information about the system requirements for different environments and to learn how to deploy Exasol, see Installation (on-prem).

Exasol SaaS

Exasol SaaS is a fully-managed cloud service built on top of the Exasol database architecture. Using Amazon S3 as a storage backend, one database can support multiple compute clusters that all access the same data, providing flexibility for organizations to split and isolate workloads on demand.

Native cloud deployment in AWS

Exasol can be deployed as a native cloud application on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

For evaluation and development

Exasol Personal

Exasol Personal is a completely free, single-user edition of Exasol with all enterprise features included. Exasol Personal runs in your own cloud infrastructure and is deployed using Exasol Launcher, a simple cross-platform command-line tool that runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows.

Key features:

  • Contains all the enterprise-scale features of the Exasol database solution

  • Is completely free for personal use

  • Lets you store unlimited amounts of data

  • Lets you scale up to any number of nodes

  • Runs on your own AWS infrastructure

Exasol Community Edition

Exasol Community Edition is a free, on-premises version of Exasol that comes preconfigured with sample data and script.

Exasol Docker version

All supported versions of Exasol are also available as Docker images. The dockerized versions allow up to 10 GiB of raw (uncompressed) data and are not intended for production environments, but can be used for evaluation and testing.

Free public demo system

Exasol offers a 30-day free trial of a public demo system hosted in our own cloud, which contains preloaded data sets and a guided tutorial. The demo system is a static shared system and does not provide the full functionality of Exasol.
