Drivers and libraries

Learn about drivers and libraries that alloiw you to connect tools to your Exasol database.

To connect a database client or other tools to your Exasol database, a driver for Exasol must be installed on the system running the tool. Some tools come with a pre-installed connector for Exasol. For other tools, you can download the drivers from the Exasol Download Portal.

The latest drivers are backwards compatible with all supported Exasol database versions. We strongly recommend that you use the latest driver.

In Exasol SaaS you can use the Connect via tools wizard to download the latest JDBC and ODBC drivers. To learn more, see Connect to Exasol SaaS.
