Pentaho Data Integration

This article explains how to connect Pentaho Data Integration to Exasol.

Environment

The following procedure uses Pentaho Data Integration on Windows.

Prerequisites

  • A running Exasol database
  • Exasol JDBC driver must be installed. You can download drivers from the Exasol Downloads portal. For more information, see Drivers.
  • Pentaho Server is online and has network access to the Exasol database

Connect Pentaho to Exasol

  1. Copy and paste the Exasol JDBC driver into the Pentaho Data Integration library.

    The default directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\Pentaho\design-tools\data-integration\lib

Make sure that the Pentaho application is not running when you copy/paste the JDBC driver.

  1. Launch Pentaho and click Transformations > Database connections.

    Database Connection dialog is displayed.

  1. Do the following in the Database Connection dialog and click OK:
    1. Enter a name for the connection in Connection name.
    2. Select Exasol 4 in Connection Type.
    3. Select Native (JDBC) in Access
    4. Provide the connection details in Settings.
