Background

EXAoperation allows configuration of a remote syslog server to receive generated messages.

Problem

Forwarding those messages is interval-based, making it possible that messages get skipped when their local write operation is delayed for some reason. It has mostly been observed with services that log messages in regular intervals, like the Load service.

The affected messages were still written correctly and viewable in EXAoperation, but are skipped during the transfer to the remote syslog.
