Rare process abort on exception

Problem Description

An exception during statement execution should be presented to the client/user; however, in some cases an exception may trigger a process abort, resulting in an "internal server error" message for the client:

Successfully reconnected after internal server error, transaction was rolled back.

Workaround

If the statement is executed again, the internal server error will probably not happen.
