SQL Clients / EXAplus
Starting with Exasol version 6.1, DbVisualizer Pro from DBVis is the recommended database tool for Exasol users, gradually replacing EXAplus GUI. DbVisualizer is a universal database tool that has been optimized to support features and ways of working specific to Exasol and Exasol users. This is a joint effort by expert developers from Exasol and DbVis Software.
Thus we discontinue EXAplus GUI in version 6.1. The EXAplus package V6.1 will only include the command line version.
However, we will continue maintaining EXAplus GUI 6.0. (EXAplus 6.0 GUI is fully compatible with Exasol database 6.1)
Additionally to DBVisualizer Pro, also a free version of DBVisualizer is available that offers very basic SQL client functionality.
Further alternative SQL tools with Exasol support are DataGrip from Jetbrains and the open source alternative DBeaver.
Changed behavior
- The Linux tar.gz now only contains the commandline EXAplus application
- The Windows installer now only contains the commandline EXAplus application
- The Mac Installer for Exaplus will no longer be delivered. The Linux tar.gz can be used to install the EXAplus console application
