Background
Defragmentation of DB RAM is a part of Exasol's swapping mechanism. The overhead of this operation increases with the size of available DB RAM and the number of nodes.
Problem
On database systems with more than 400GB DB RAM per node and more than 10 nodes, this can lead to significant performance degradation, especially for small queries during the time of swapping.
