Background
When converting between GEOMETRY and VARCHAR or CHAR, the ST_MAX_DECIMAL_DIGITS parameter previously limited the total number of significant digits across both the integer and fractional parts of coordinates.
Improvement
When converting between GEOMETRY and VARCHAR or CHAR, the ST_MAX_DECIMAL_DIGITS parameter covers the fractional part only.
