When deploying databases with C4, one can set username that will be used for SSH access to the instances by means of parameter CCC_HOST_IMAGE_USER (see Configure the deployment).
Special characters in this user name might have lead to problems while operating cluster via C4.
An example scenario:
CCC_HOST_IMAGE_USER="sadfasd%67&" c4 config -V was an accepted configuration for C4.
Workaround
Don’t use any characters that are not considered safe as Linux usernames.
Fix
Using a username that is not valid will report an error.
