Background
Interrupted backups, for example after a node failure, can leave undeleted invisible file artifacts on the archive volume. These artifacts can accumulate over time, causing unnecessary disk space usage and increased memory consumption.
Workaround
Contact Exasol support for assistance with cleaning up the affected archive volume.
Improvement
We added detection for unfinished backup files and internal warnings when such artifacts are found. Automatic cleanup can be enabled by adding the command line parameter “-removeUnfinishedBackupFiles”.
