Description
Depending on which previous OS security updates were installed on the system, installing a recent OS security update package can cause the node to fail to start the EXAClusterOS service, because it incorrectly assumes that the node is running and that the node is running an outdated kernel.
Affected Systems / Updates
- Systems with affected Exasol versions that also had a security update package newer or equal to 202406111312 installed
- The bug is triggered by installing an OS update package version between 202407051420 and 202408311220 (inclusive)
Workaround
During boot, select the previous kernel version (most likely 3.10.0-1160.119.1.el7.x86_64)
Fix
Update to 7.1.30
or
Install an OS update package newer than or equal to 202409121020.
