Background
When joining two tables, the Exasol compiler decides how to compute the join. This includes the decision which index type to use for the computation. Unnecessary casts in the join condition may cause the compiler to create an expression index.
Improvement
Exasol no longer uses an expression index if the casts in the join condition are unnecessary.
