Background

AWS S3 can be used as remote archive volumes for storing database backups.

Improvement

A new implementation of remote volumes on AWS S3 is added which improves on reliability and speed of the backup process and also improves compatibility with third-party re-implementations of the S3 API, such as MinIO.

In Exasol 8, this is enabled by default. In Exasol 7.1.12+, it can be enabled by setting the cloud_backend_v2 option on the remote archive volume
