Background
Client connections use TCP as a communication protocol. In case of a (temporary) inactive session (idle, long query) the TCP connection has to be "protected" by periodic keep-alive communication so no firewall terminates the inactive connection.
Especially for cloud environments like Azure, the standard keep-alive interval of 600 seconds has been found to be too small.
Improvement
The default TCP keep-alive interval has been reduced from 600 to 30 seconds.
