Updates

This section explains how to update your Exasol database to a newer version.

Keeping your Exasol software updated will ensure that your database is running with optimal performance and high security.

You can use Exasol Deployment Tool (c4) to update an Exasol cluster from versions 8.21.0 or later to a newer version. If you are updating from a version of Exasol prior to 8.21.0 or from Exasol 7.1, you must instead restore a backup of the old database in a new (empty) deployment.

This section describes methods for different update scenarios and explains how to ensure a successful update with minimal downtime.
