Fail Safety
A node in a cluster becomes unavailable if the hardware component or server where it is running fails. A fail safety process in Exasol will then indicate that a specific node within a cluster is no longer available, and the cluster nodes will replicate data to neighbor nodes if redundancy is configured. Different fail safety alternatives are available depending on the installation platform.
This section of the documentation desribes the fail safety mechanisms for the following two platforms:
- Fail Safety (On-Prem): How fail safety works in Exasol on premises installations.
- Fail Safety (Cloud): How fail safety works in Exasol cloud installations.
