Fail Safety
In an event of failure of a hardware component or server, the node in a cluster becomes unavailable. Fail safety process indicates that a specific node within a cluster is no longer available and the cluster nodes replicate data to neighbor nodes if redundancy is configured.
This section covers the fail safety for the following two platforms:
- Fail Safety On-premise: This section explains how fail safety work for Exasol's On-premise installation. You can use the hot standby mechanism to enable failover feature for your cluster.
- Fail Safety on Cloud Platform: This section explains how fail safety work for Exasol's Cloud installation. You can use the hot standby and cold standby mechanisms to enable failover feature for your cluster on cloud platforms.
